Inspire allows users to send an announcement to a group of selected students. To send an announcement, follow the steps below.

1. Navigate to Announcements by clicking Communication on the left-side navigation menu.

2. Click the Announcements tab at the top of the page to (1) Compose a new announcement, view sent announcements, or view announcement drafts.

When composing a new announcement, choose the recipients of the announcement by (3) selecting a group of students (it is recommended that you do this first). Then, (4) title your announcement in the subject field

3. Choose and update the following options to customize your announcement:

(1) Division Logo. Depending on your role in Inspire, you may have several divisional logos to choose from. Other users may only see one option here.

(2) Message editing features. Use these editing tools to bring your message to life with dynamic formatting, links, and more.

(3) Mail merge name options. Use the "personalize" options to personalize the message to individual students using their preferred name, full name, first name, or last name.

Note: students who have not designated a preferred name in PioneerWeb will have the announcement default to their first name.

(4) Add Events. If you would like to link an Inspire event to your message, click the "Add Events" feature to either select the pre-created event or to create a new event.

(5) Add or edit the message signature. If you have created a signature from your User Settings, this field will auto-populate, but details can be edited if desired.

(6) There are several options for what to do with your composed announcement. Click Cancel to cancel the announcement all together. Click Save as a Draft to save your announcement and return to it later. Click Preview to see what the message looks like for students. Click Send to send your announcement.

4. Navigate to Sent to see your sent announcement and any other announcements that others have sent on campus. Hover over the blue circle of any announcement to see who the announcement was sent to.
