The Advanced Advising Dashboard allows users to filter the students for which they would like to view data. User profiles will either default to All Students or My Assigned Students based on whether or not the user has an assigned caseload. Users can find which audience they are currently viewing and change audiences in the upper right-hand corner of the dashboard.

To change audiences, click on the blue hyperlinked text, which will open a drop-down menu with possible audiences.

Pinned Groups

In addition to filtering students using the All Students and My Assigned Students, users can also filter based on Pinned Groups. Pinned Groups are groups created for a user's personal use that appear as shortcuts on a user's dashboard. Some examples of these groups may be:

  • Advisees within a major and/or FSEM advisees
  • Students on academic probation
  • Students with an unresolved alert
  • Students nearing graduation

Users can find currently pinned groups on the right-hand side of the dashboard under the Quick Actions tile. To pin a group, users select View Groups from the Quick Actions tile in the upper right-hand corner of the dashboard.

A list of the user's student groups will open. To the right of each group, users will be able to pin groups to their dashboard.

Once a group has been pinned to the user's dashboard, it can be used as a filter to select a student population. Users can filter using the pinned group by following the steps to filter students (outlined on page 2), typing in the name of the group they'd like to use as a filter in the search bar, and selecting the correct group.
