Advisors or administrative staff can create advising hours (Appointment Slots), which are slots of time that they are available to meet with students. Appointments slots can be made available to all students, or to a custom group of students created within the system. Advisors should check their personal calendar settings in order to ensure that their appointment slots are visible to their intended student audience.

1. After logging into Inspire, navigate to Settings in the left-hand toolbar.

2. In settings, review calendar visibility options under Visibility and select the option you'd prefer.

  • If you only would like students in your assigned caseload to access your advising slots and schedule appointments via Inspire, select "My Students."
  • If you would like all students at the institution to access your advising and schedule appointments via Inspire, select "All Students."

  • "Invisible (no students)" is not relevant for DU advisors, as Inspire is the primary scheduling tool for advising appointments and the calendar should therefore be visible to, at least, an advisor's assigned caseload.

3. Once you've selected your settings, a pop-up box will appear that reads "Settings updated successfully." You can now navigate away from this page.
